Scott Flanders
Scott Flanders is the CIO at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). As the CIO, he plans, directs, and oversees resources to ensure the delivery of information technology and information management services that are critical to support the mission, goals, and priorities of the agency. Mr. Flanders joined the NRC in1991 and has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 2004. Throughout his career he has led a diverse portfolio of technical organizations supporting the NRC’s Nuclear Reactor and Nuclear Materials regulatory programs including the Director of the Division of Site Safety and Environmental Analysis in the Office of New Reactors, before he came to OCIO in 2017 as the Deputy CIO.
Mr. Flanders received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and has completed post graduate studies at American University in Business Administration and Public Policy. He is a graduate of the NRC’s SES Candidate Development Program.
