Caroline Carusone
Caroline Carusone serves as the Deputy Executive Director for Nuclear Materials, Administrative, and Corporate Programs.
Caroline Carusone began her NRC career in 2007 as a Program Analyst in NRR. She then served in branch chief positions in NRR. Subsequently, Carusone joined the Office of the Chief Information Officer as the Deputy Director of the Customer Service Division and later became Special Assistant to the CIO. Since joining the SES in 2019, she served as the Deputy Director in the Division of Rulemaking, Environmental, and Financial Support in NMSS, as Director of NRR’s EMBARK Venture Studio, Deputy Director, Division of Operating Reactor Licensing, and Deputy Director of the Division of Advanced Reactors and Non-Power Production and Utilization Facilities in NRR. Carusone was designated as the acting Associate Director for HR Operations and Policy in the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer. Most recently Carusone served as the Deputy Director and Deputy CIO in the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
Prior to joining the NRC, Carusone worked as a Liaison Officer with the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command during the post-9/11 establishment of the Rapid Equipping Force. She has worked in private industry in federal business development and administration and holds Bachelor’s degrees in physiology and neurobiology and mathematics from the University of Maryland.
