Greg Bowman
Gregory T. Bowman serves as the Deputy Office Director for New Reactors in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR).
Mr. Bowman began his career at the NRC in 2002 as a reactor inspector and resident inspector in Region I. He transferred to NRC Headquarters in 2007, where he served in progressively more responsible positions, including Reactor Operations Engineer, Senior Enforcement Specialist, and Executive Technical Assistant. Mr. Bowman was selected to be the Branch Chief for the Research and Test Reactors Oversight Branch in 2012 and has held a number of management positions since that time. Prior to his current position, Mr. Bowman served in the Senior Executive Service positions of Deputay Director of the Division of Inspection and Regional Support, Deputy Director of the Division of Risk Assessment, Director of the Vogtle Project Office, and Director of the Division of Physical and Cybersecurity Policy.
Before joining the NRC, Mr. Bowman spent four years as a training engineer and supervisor at the Navy's Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, SC. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the NRC's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
