Victoria Nourse
Victoria Frances Nourse is the Ralph Whitworth Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law School. Her areas of expertise are Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Legislation, and Gender. She has written textbooks and dozens of articles in each field. Professor Nourse clerked for Judge Edward Weinfeld in the Southern District of New York, and then moved to the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison. She left private practice to serve as junior counsel to the Senate-Iran Contra Committee. After serving on the appellate staff of the Civil Division, she was hired as a legal expert for then- Senator Joseph Biden. She is known for her staff work on the first Violence Against Women Act. During the Obama Administration, she served for a year as Chief Counsel to then-Vice President Biden. Professor Nourse has a B.A. from Stanford and a J.D. from University of California Berkeley.
