Cheryl Gayheart
Cheryl Gayheart graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1984.
Ms. Gayheart joined Exelon in 1985, as a Staff Engineer and Supervisor at Braidwood Generating Station and held a Senior Reactor Operator’s License from 1991-2007 on Braidwood Units 1 and 2.
She worked at Braidwood and Byron Station through 2007, serving in roles of increasing responsibility, including Shift Manager, Site Work Management Director, Operations Director and the Operations Corporate Function Area Manager (CFAM).
In 2012, Ms. Gayheart joined Southern Nuclear as Plant Manager at Farley Nuclear Plant, where she was responsible for overall safe operation and maintenance of the plant. In 2013, she assumed the role of Site Vice President and in 2024, she was appointed as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.//Ms. Gayheart was the Co-Chair of the Industry Accident Tolerant Fuel Working Group.
