Mehdi Reisi Fard
Mehdi Reisi Fard serves as the Deputy Director, Division of Advanced Reactors and NPUFs in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). Dr. Reisi Fard joined the NRC in 2007 as a Reliability and Risk Engineer and has since held multiple technical and supervisory positions in both the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES) and NRR. In 2024, he was appointed to the Senior Executive Service as Deputy Director of the Division of Risk Analysis in RES. Dr. Reisi Fard has represented the NRC on several national and international bodies, including the Joint Committee on Nuclear Risk Management, the OECD/NEA Working Group on Risk Assessment, and the American Nuclear Society Standards Board. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the Ohio State University. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
