April Nguyen
April Nguyen serves as the Lead of the Palisades Restart Team in Region III.
Ms. Nguyen joined the NRC in 2008 as a Reactor Engineer in the Division of Reactor Projects in Region III. She completed the Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program (NSPDP) as a member of the Class of 2010. In 2011, she was selected as the Resident Inspector at the Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert, Michigan. April was the Senior Resident Inspector and Resident Inspector, for three and half years respectively, at Palisades. Ms. Nguyen was then selected as the Senior Resident Inspector at the Dresden Generating Station in Morris, Illinois from April 2018 until November 2022. In November 2022, April was selected as the Branch Chief for the Operations Branch in Region III. She held this role until early 2024, when she began leading Region III’s efforts on the Palisades Restart Project.
Ms. Nguyen graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering.
