Marco Brugmans
Marco Brugmans is Member of the Board (Vice Chair) of the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) in the Netherlands since 2015. Mr. Brugmans has an academic background and holds a PhD in technical and experimental physics (PhD). He was trained as a radiation protection expert and has worked in the fields of radiotherapy as well as in radiation protection research. Mr. Brugmans firmly believes that international cooperation is key in addressing current and future challenges. In 2023, Mr. Brugmans was appointed Vice Chair of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) and since 2024 he chairs the ENSREG SMR taskforce. ENSREG is an independent advisory group of nuclear safety authorities of the EU to the European Commission.
