Insuk Jang
Insuk Jang is the Director of the Advanced Nuclear Reactor Safety Division at the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) of the Republic of Korea, responsible for overseeing safety regulation for advanced and small modular reactors in Korea.
She has worked for the Korean government for over 20 years, gaining extensive experience in science and technology policy, international cooperation, and nuclear safety regulation. Her career includes key positions at the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Presidential Office, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India.
Since 2018, Ms. Jang served as a nuclear regulator in both radiation and nuclear installation safety. From 2021 to 2025, she worked at the IAEA as a Senior Safety Expert, supporting Member States in establishing their nuclear regulatory infrastructure.
