Beth Vary

Beth Vary is the Director of Advanced Reactor Licensing at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). She is responsible for licensing new nuclear reactors, leading pre-licensing activities including Vendor Design Reviews, and advancing the CNSC's organizational readiness for small modular reactors and advanced technologies. Her team led the review of Ontario Power Generation's License to Construct application for one BWRX-300, the G7's first small modular reactor, now under construction. Prior to joining the CNSC, Beth served as the engineering director for a small modular reactor developer and held several senior positions supporting Canada’s operating nuclear fleet.
