Bego is the Federal Program Manager for the Advanced Reactor International Safeguards Engagement (ARISE) Program at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), a program she has supported since June 2022. The ARISE program focuses on integrating safeguards considerations early in the design phase of advanced nuclear technologies to facilitate their international deployment. She holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University, where her doctoral research focused on secondary electron transport in nuclear avalanche cells. She also completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University.
