William Kennedy
Mr. Kennedy joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff in 2005 and has worked as a project manager and acting branch chief in non-power reactor licensing and advanced reactor licensing. From 2013-2018, Mr. Kennedy worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a Nuclear Safety Officer responsible for developing and assisting IAEA Member States with implementing the IAEA safety standards for research reactors. Mr. Kennedy began his career in nuclear at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he worked as a reactor operator at the Nuclear Reactor Laboratory from 2000-2005 while completing his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering. He is currently a senior project manager in NRC’s Advanced Reactor Policy Branch focusing on micro-reactor policy.
