Jamila Khamis Alsuwaidi
Jamila is an Acting Manager - Safety Assessment Systems and Equipment and a Senior Safety Assessment Specialist since 2010 at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), a United Arab Emirates Nuclear Regulator. Jamila is leading the team of the safety assessment to ensure the high level of safety is conducted and practiced from the level of design, construction, operation to the level of systems and equipment through implementation of rigorous regulatory framework and high level of international standards on safety of NPP. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Master of Science in Nuclear Physics (first UAE national), Master of Science in Risk and Safety Management, PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Khalifa University (first UAE female) and Certified Senior Reactor Operator - Barakah Nuclear Power Plant Management Certification. She Led the Technical review of the Final Safety Analysis Report, for (Probabilistic Risk Assessment- PRA). She has presented FANR in many local and international events and published research papers on Multi-Unit Risk. Mentor for FANR Developees program and a trainer for many interns. Participated in 24 Operator - FANR emergency exercises and drills. First UAE Mentor selected for Japanese High School female student (International Mentoring Workshop-STEM) - JAPAN 2022. More than 10 years of Previous Regulator experience as a Specialist Nuclear Physicist – Ministry of Health for the application of Radiation in Medicine. Beyond her technical proficiency, Jamila approaches every task with enthusiasm and determination, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
