Ryan Yap
Ryan is an Assistant Director at Singapore's National Environment Agency's Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group, where he has contributed since joining in 2011. His work spans nuclear safety and technology, emergency planning, and radioactive waste management, informing the technical assessments and policy recommendations that support decision-making. From 2017 to 2022, Ryan was seconded to the Energy Market Authority, where he developed capability-building roadmaps for emerging technologies, including nuclear energy, and conducted analyses of energy solutions in support of the agency's strategic initiatives. Ryan holds a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan. He is committed to advancing the safe and responsible use of nuclear technology.
