Matthew Homiack

Matthew Homiack is a Reactors Systems Engineer and Data Scientist at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research. In this role, he propels the agency’s efforts to build capabilities and partnerships in artificial intelligence (AI) and ensure the safe and secure use of AI in NRC-regulated activities. He is an expert in multi-physics modeling and simulation, probabilistic analysis, and materials performance for nuclear applications. He thrives at the intersection of innovation and real-world problem solving and is passionate about leveraging AI, machine learning, and data science to drive technological innovation. Matt joined the NRC after working as an engineer and project manager for a Washington, DC-area consulting services firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
