T5 Right-Sizing Agency Oversight and Inspection
This session will provide highlights of revisions and the implementation of changes to agency’s oversight and inspection programs for reactors, fuel facilities, materials licenses, storage, transportation, and low-level waste, as required by the ADVANCE Act section 507 and Executive Order 14300. The presentations will focus on the program changes, implemented for current inspections, and future plans for revising the inspection programs. Additionally, the panel includes industry stakeholders who will provide their perspectives on the program revisions. The presentation will include a discussion of changes to the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) as discussed in SECY-25-0045 and other revisions to the ROP Baseline Inspection Program. If approved, these changes to the ROP Baseline Inspection Program will be the most significant revision in the 25-year history of the ROP.
