Junya Sumita
Junya Sumita has a Doctor of Engineering degree (with Graphite Material) followed by over 20 years of experience in the nuclear research and development, joining Japan Atomic Energy Agency in 1998.
Junya spent over 8 years within the High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR) operation and maintenance section working on an HTTR projects.
Junya joined the Fuels and Materials for High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Group at the beginning of 2005 and have worked on evaluating the characteristics on ceramic materials, especially nuclear grade graphite material for High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR).
Junya has worked for HTGR Project Management Office at Tokyo Japan since 2022 and been in charge of HTGR demonstration program collaborating with UK national laboratory.
