Mark Miller

Mr. Mark S. Miller serves as the Acting Regional Administrator for NRC's Region II Office located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Miller joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1990 in Region I. He was subsequently assigned as the Resident Inspector at the Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station in Massachusetts. Mr. Miller was later assigned as a Headquarters Operations Officer, a Reactor Systems Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, and as the Resident and then Senior Resident Inspector at the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant before being selected as a Special Assistant to then-Chairman Shirley Ann Jackson.  After his service in the Office of the Chairman, Mr. Miller served as a Chief Operator Licensing Examiner in Region II, an Instructor and Branch Chief at the Technical Training Center, and as the Director of the Technical Training Center before being appointed to the Senior Executive Service as the Deputy Director of Construction Projects in Region II. He then served as the Deputy Director of the Division of Reactor Safety and as the Director of the Division of Reactor Projects in Region II before being named the Deputy Regional Administrator of Region II.

Before joining the NRC, Mr. Miller was a Shift Test Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company. Following this, he was a Systems Engineer at Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.

Mr. Miller received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Mississippi State University and is a recipient of the NRC's Meritorious Service Award.
