Jeremy Bowen

Jeremy Bowen serves as the Director of the Division of Advanced Reactors and Non-Power Production & Utilization Facilities (DANU) in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Mr. Bowen joined the NRC in 2007 as a licensing Project Manager in NRR. Since then, he has served in various capacities, including as a Reactor Operations Engineer responsible for the NRC’s reactor inspection program, NRR’s Technical Assistant for Enforcement, Branch Chief in NRR’s Division of Operating Reactor Licensing, Associate Director and Deputy Director for NRR’s Japan Lessons Learned Division, and as the liaison between the NRC’s Executive Director for Operations and the NRC's regional offices. Mr. Bowen's senior management assignments include Acting Deputy Director for the Division of Engineering in NRR, Acting Deputy Director for the Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, Deputy Director of the Division of Engineering in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, and Deputy Director for DANU.

Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Bowen served as a Naval Submarine Officer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and is a graduate of the NRC's Leadership Potential Program and the NRC's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
