Fernando Ferrante
Dr. Ferrante is the Program Manager of the Risk and Safety Management group at EPRI. He is responsible for managing risk assessment, thermal hydraulics, and severe accident analysis for nuclear reactors in the Nuclear Sector at EPRI.
Dr. Ferrante has been a member of multiple professional organizations supporting the nuclear community and the development of PRA guidance and good practices worldwide. In his current and prior positions, Dr. Ferrante has been involved with multiple activities supporting the international community through collaborations with EPRI members and activities supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Energy Agency.
Prior to joining EPRI in 2017, Dr. Ferrante held positions in the U.S. Federal Government as a risk analyst at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (U.S. NRC) and senior engineer at the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB).
Dr. Ferrante holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College London (1997), in Great Britain, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (2005).
