Edward Robinson

Mr. Edward Robinson joined the NRC in May of 2006 as an Emergency Preparedness (EP) Specialist within NSIR and has since held numerous roles at the NRC of increasing responsibility. He has crafted over (40) technically credible and comprehensive SERs and has demonstrated regulatory competence and communication tactfulness in his numerous engagements with the NRC’s Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) pertaining to the evaluations for which he held lead review responsibility.  These include, but were not limited to, the US-APWR Design Certification Document (DCD), ABWR DCD, Comanche Peak Operating License, and most recently the SHINE Medical Technologies “First-of-a-Kind” application submittal.  During his tenure with the agency, Mr. Robinson has demonstrated his ability to be a change agent and modern risk informed regulator by authoring and co-authoring over (10) SECYs submitted to the Commission on policy, adjudicatory, and rulemaking matters.  Currently, Mr. Robinson is a Sr. EP Specialist leading our Adv. and New Reactor Licensing efforts within the Reactor Licensing Branch in the office of NSIR. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Robinson was employed by the Science Applications International Corporation as a Defense Analyst and the Department of Energy as a Reactor Engineer.  He possesses degrees in both Nuclear Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
