Jamie Pelton

Jamie Pelton serves as the Acting Deputy Office Director for Reactor Safety and Mission Support in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR).Ms. Pelton joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2003, as an engineer in the Division of Nuclear Security in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, where she served in a number of positions. In 2008, she joined the Region II office as a Construction Inspector. There, she held progressively responsible positions including: Chief, Construction Inspection Branch 2, Division of Construction Inspection; Chief, Construction Inspection Branch 1, Division of Construction Oversight; and Chief, Projects Branch 6, Division of Reactor Projects. She has also served as an Executive Technical Assistant in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, and as the Acting Deputy Director of the Division of Operating Reactor Licensing (DORL) in NRR. She has served as the Deputy Director, Division of Reactor Projects, Region III. She most recently served as the Deputy Director and Acting Director of DORL.Ms. Pelton received a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master’s Degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University. She is a graduate of the NRC’s SES Candidate Development Program.
